When you need to apostille documents for traveling abroad, you can either work on your own to obtain one – or work with us and let us handle the governmental red tape for you.
Authentication is a way to confirm the authenticity of the signatures and seals on a document.
There are two types of validation:
- Have your document apostilled
- Have your document legalized by the Embassy or Consulate
The Hague Convention of 1961 established a uniform process of confirming the authenticity of documents. Countries belonging to this convention accept with an apostille, while non-member countries only accept legalized documents that are processed through the embassy or consulate.
Don’t worry if you are unsure where to get documents apostilled or which verification you need. We know what each country requires and will have your documents properly authenticated and quickly returned to you.
Documents You May Need
Whatever document needs an apostille, we can help you. Obtaining an apostille in Kansas can be done on state-issued and federally-issued documents.
For state-issued documents, we work with the Secretary of State to obtain the apostille. Some examples of these documents are:
- Birth or death certificate
- Driver’s license
- School records
- Articles of Incorporation
For federally-issued documents, we work with the US Department of State in Washington, DC, to obtain the apostille.
Some examples of these documents are:
- Passport
- FBI background check
- Social Security letter
You don’t need to worry about which office to contact; we will take care of that for you. We have been doing this since 2010 and can quickly and easily get your authentication.
Here are some tips that may help as you gather documents:
- You will need a separate apostille for each document. You cannot use one apostille to cover all documents.
- Vital records such as birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage licenses are not notarized. An original or certified copy is what we need for the apostille.
- You can obtain vital records (such as your birth certificate) from the county where you were born or from VitalCheck online.
- Notarize documents such as school records and driver’s licenses.
